About
Established in the summer of 2015 in Daytona Beach, Florida, Valhalla Pickups began as an experiment to see if I could improve my tone by making my own handwound pickups. I'm an avid guitar player hellbent on getting the best tone I possibly can, and after hearing my handwound creations, I knew this was something I needed to do on a larger scale.
Handwound pickups are generally more articulate with a sweeter high-end than factory-made, machine-wound pickups, and when you combine that with some research & development, side-by-side tone tests, an electrical engineering background, and consistent dedication to great tone, it's a match made in Valhalla.
I (Kendrick Lemke) personally make every single pickup myself. All of my pickups are totally passive, which means they don't require a battery and they respond to your picking in an organic-feeling way. They are also wax-potted to eliminate microphonic feedback, and measurements are taken throughout the building process to eliminate careless mistakes.
According to the vikings, when a warrior dies in the heat of battle, the eternity of their afterlife is spent in Valhalla. Surrender to your battle with tone. Beckon your guitar's afterlife. Enter Valhalla.
